Use
This auxiliary interface model enables modelers to divide physical models with heating and cooling circuits into several parts and to freely cut individual pipe branches. It often works in combination with the DefineVolumeFlow model.
The ExtractVolumeFlow covers the following applications:
Basic: During debugging, test simulations should show if parts of a heating system work properly, e.g. heat storage system with connected heating circuit but without a suitable heat supplier. It therefore cuts piping without generating numerical issues.
Advanced: Users want to integrate measured temperatures and flows in a heating circuit as input data sets to a complex model - Hybrid Digital Twin. It provides an output interface for result evaluation and separated feedback loops.
To use this model, it is not necessary to connect any further model components to the real ouputs ▶TMedium or ▶qvMedium. However, it is still possible for debugging or evaluation purposes or as additional inputs of controls.
