Use

The StaticPowerController regulates the (electrical) power output for heating a boiler depending on the boiler temperature. This is a control unit that modulates the generator.

Parameters and Connectors

The boiler temperature must therefore be defined on the basis of the actual temperature (▶TAct) of a specific water layer. A reference temperature (▶TRef) is also required to define the controller output (▶PRef).

The output is defined in such a way that if the actual temperature falls below the reference temperature by deltaTlow, the calculated power is output until the reference temperature is exceeded by deltaTup. The maximum power output is QHeatMax and scaled linearly between these two points.

Model Background

Here is a schematic representation of the control logic. In this case, QHeatMax is 3 kW, deltaTlow = -1 K and deltaTup = 1 K.

The linear scaling of the power output is based on the following formula.
