Use
This specific heat exchanger uses a partial flow rate of a river to extract heat out of its water. It can be used as heat source for the heat pump model or as cold source.
Parameters and Connectors
This model depicts a river, some of whose water is used to generate heat and cold. The required river temperature and volume flow are taken from a text file which can be specified with the parameter DataFileName in the dialog. The example contained in the data directory should be used as a template if application specific data files are to be used. To read the file correctly, the ▶EnvironmentConditions must be connected. In addition, the TimeBase and the names of the tables (TableNameTemp, TableNameFlow) must be set to match the text file. In addition, the unused flow rate (RiverWaterNotUsedHeat) and the share of the used flow rate (RiverWaterShareHeat) must be defined.
This volume flow reaches the heat exchanger which can also be parametrized in the parameter dialog. The parameters are described in the heat exchanger documentation.
The thermal output is provided via the ▶FlowSource and ▶ReturnSource pipes.
Model Background
Generally, the amount of water that is used for heat extraction is calculated as follows:
